Becoming a Parent
Every parent wants their baby to have the “best” (which means different things to different families). On this quest, and with so much information out there about the latest and greatest ways to care for a baby, it seems that more and more, parents are getting confused about what is “right” or “best”. This overload and immense pressure can distract parents from simply paying attention and being present which is what your baby needs most.
Rite Path Home works with the parents to help establish the presence that promotes the understanding and attunement with your baby that leads to healthy development. While the outside world has taught us that we need to be spinning plates on our fingers while hopping on a pogo stick to somehow earn a place in the world, babies teach us that we are enough, by just sitting still and being who we are.
This magical and wondrous time as a parent of a baby and young child, can also be quite demanding. In addition to the boundless love you feel for your child, you can also feel boundless exhaustion, especially if you have other children in the home. The stress on parents, especially with young children under the age of 5, is very real.
Rite Path Home recognizes this, and seeks to provide support for those families on several levels:
- Rite Path Home works directly with mothers and their baby or young child to cultivate and strengthen the maternal wisdom that is already present and provide education where needed.
- Rite Path Home works with parents around effective communication with their babies and young children.
- Rite Path Home works with the parents to establish structures, support systems and effective communication throughout the family, all three of which greatly help to reduce the stress that new parents can feel during this huge time of transition.
- Rite Path Home works with parents around visioning their goals for parenting during this time as a way of supporting an intentional approach to parenting that allows the top priorities of the family to be the guide.
People, including babies, work best when they know what to expect. Rite Path Home helps families develop as much predictability, understanding, connection and flexibility, as possible during a time when so much is changing.
